UP Health System – Portage Rehab Welcomes Brad Lawton, PT, DPT
December 29, 2022

UP Health System – Portage is pleased to welcome Brad Lawton, PT, DPT, to the rehab team. A familiar face within the Copper Country, Brad is a Yooper at heart and earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Michigan Technology University. He then went on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University, in Mount Pleasant, MI.
With more than seven and a half years of physical therapy experience, Brad has held various roles in outpatient, sports medicine, skilled nursing and home health settings. “We are thrilled to welcome Brad to the UP Health System – Portage Rehab team,” said Sharon Fisher, Director of Rehab and Sports Medicine, UP Health System – Portage. “He truly understands our culture of delivering high-quality and safe patient care. Brad’s arrival will allow us to continue making communities healthier.”
Brad is a big believer in getting and keeping people moving and active throughout their lives – no matter their age. “Healing through movement is key and will help everyone become stronger and healthier – which will then reduce the risk or injury in the future,” said Brad. “However, being able to assist in an individual’s recovery and see them improve over time is rewarding.” Outside of work, Brad and his family enjoy hiking, biking and spending time outdoors as much as they can.
Brad joins a robust team of rehabilitation specialists at UP Health System – Portage. If injury strikes this winter season, we are here to help. Ask your primary care provider about physical therapy.
