Importance of Prostate Health

Each year Prostate Cancer Awareness is observed in September to help raise awareness and the importance of prostate health. According to the CDC, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. The good news, it is highly treatable when detected early in an annual prostate health screen. A few prevention tips to help your prostate remain in good health include:

• Eat fewer calories and exercise more
• Reduce the amount of fat intake from meat or dairy products
• Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol
• Reduce workplace and home life stress
• For men 45 or older, discuss the risks and benefits of screening with a provider
