July 03, 2025
Recognition highlights high standards in image quality, patient safety and clinical excellence
MARQUETTE, Mich. (July 3, 2025) — UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) has been awarded accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by the American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Quality and Safety. This accreditation recognizes the hospital’s excellence in MRI imaging of the body, breast, head, musculoskeletal system, spine and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).
The ACR accreditation is a nationally recognized mark of quality. It is awarded only to facilities that meet rigorous standards for image quality, staff qualifications, equipment performance, safety procedures and quality assurance programs. This three-year renewal means UPHS – Marquette is now accredited through 2028, following a comprehensive review conducted by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
“We’re incredibly proud to have earned this accreditation,” said Denae Nadeau, R.T.(R)(CT), imaging director at UPHS – Marquette. “It’s a reflection of the commitment our radiologists, technologists and support teams bring every day to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging for our patients.”
During the accreditation process, UPHS – Marquette was evaluated in key areas, including:
- Personnel qualifications to ensure appropriate training and expertise
- Equipment performance to verify accuracy and reliability
- Image quality through the review of clinical and test images
- Patient safety protocols to confirm adherence to best practices
This achievement ensures that UPHS – Marquette’s MRI services will continue to provide patients with access to advanced imaging techniques that support accurate diagnosis, faster treatment planning, and improved outcomes.
