What is your title and role at UPHS-Portage?
I am a Patient Service Representative at UP Health System – Portage. I assist patients with scheduling appointments, as well as helping patients when they first arrive for their appointments.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I love helping people, and this role allows me to help patients and make a positive impact.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
My day is usually pretty busy from answering phone calls to assisting patients coming into the office. The days fly by!
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been employed here at Portage for 22 wonderful years and I still enjoy coming into work.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
A big change was going from Portage to LifePoint, as well as adjusting to the changes with our current scheduling systems.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What/where is your favorite local gem?
A few of my favorite hobbies include spending time with my family, making crafts, and wreaths. I like to keep busy!
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Portage?
I really enjoy spending time with some of the best co-workers. We really do have a great team here at Portage.
