What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am an Orthopedic Technician and Brace Fitter at UP Health System – Marquette.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
No day is the same. I perform casting and bracing throughout the hospital wherever I’m needed, so I have the opportunity to work with many different patients.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I started out in building services and then shifted to my current Orthopedic Tech position over 30 years ago.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
The field of orthopedics is changing constantly, with new providers and new bracing technology.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I enjoy fixing things and home renovation. I also like to travel and spend time outdoors.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
I enjoy working with many providers and employees, learning new techniques and sharing what I learn with others, and using my skills to help others in need.
