What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am a registered radiologic technologist and mammographer in the Imaging Department at UP Health System – Marquette.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
My inspiration for getting into healthcare would be from my personal experiences. As a child, one of my family members needed a lot of medical attention. After numerous trips to multiple medical facilities, I became intrigued by the medical profession.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
I take X-rays in the Emergency Department, outpatient X-rays, fluoroscopic exams, bone densities and mammograms. Part of what I love about my job is the variety.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have worked in the Imaging Department at UPHS – Marquette for 25 years.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
Over the 25 years I have worked here, I have experienced new imaging technologies, computer systems and facilities.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love spending time outdoors, such as walking my dog, biking, skiing or camping.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
I enjoy the people I work with and the patients I take care of, and I really enjoy working in the healthcare setting.
