What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am an Information Desk Attendant and Patient Transporter at UP Health System – Marquette.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I was inspired by the opportunity to help patients and visitors have a satisfactory experience.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
Typical days at the information desk involve greeting patients and visitors and directing them to where they need to go. As a transporter, I take patients to and from appointments and bring specimens over to the lab.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been with UP Health System for about a year and a half, first working in security before joining the Information Desk/Patient Transport team.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Outside of work, I enjoy playing cribbage, collecting rare and unique items, target shooting, and playing pool. I’m also a life member of the VFW NRA and American Legion, and a Master Mason member of the Masonic Lodge 202 in Negaunee.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
I enjoy working alongside my team to help our patients and visitors have a satisfactory experience.
