UPHS – Bell Heroes | Kara Hanlon, Pediatric Office Receptionist
September 14, 2020

What is your title and role at UPHS – Bell? Receptionist in the Peds office.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position? 18+ years. Most of my work has been done in the Peds office, with about a year in Urology.
What does a typical day look like for you? I check in patients, prepare charts, scan, answer phones and generally just try to be positive and contribute to making this office a place where people feel like we truly care about patients and their parents – like they’re a part of our family.
Tell us a little bit about your family: I’ve been married to my husband, Ron, for 26 years. I have a 23-year-old daughter, Elli and son-in-law, Jake, a 22-year old son, Connor and his soon-to-be fiance, Danielle. I have one sweet grandaughter in Heaven, Rori, and one adorable, chunky 6-month-old grandson, Colton.
What are some of your favorite hobbies? Walking, baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
What is your favorite local restaurant? Maybe Mama Mia’s and Border Grill. There are so many good ones, but I actually prefer to eat at home.
What is your favorite part about working for UPHS – Bell? The fact that this is an extended part of my family. Everyone is so friendly here and I think that’s what makes others choose us for their care, too.
