What is your role at UPHS?

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I’ve always loved healthcare. It is very rewarding to help others in times of need.   

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

My day starts before the sun comes up, and I am continuously moving until it sets. We have a very busy, fast-paced clinic with more than 30 providers. 

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

Over 13 years. I started in the switchboard and stayed there for a year before transferring to the Heart & Vascular Center.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?

We are continuously growing with new providers and staff. The office is always busy. Working with all the different specialties that are under Heart & Vascular can be challenging but very rewarding.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

Being with my fiancé, children and grandchildren. I love Lake Superior and the beaches attached to it. 

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?

This team—they make me smile daily. I couldn’t do what I do every day without them. They are all family to me!
