What is your role at UPHS?

I am a Patient Service Rep III at UP Health System – Marquette.  

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I enjoy the opportunity to help people and to be able to get our patients through stressful times.    

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

I work in Heart & Vascular which is a very busy clinic, so my day begins and ends with helping patients. 

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I have been here for almost twenty years. I was in the billing department of Heart & Vascular for the majority of that time, but for the last three years, I've been in the front office. I love our patients and we have a great staff who are like family.  

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?

The addition of new providers in the clinic and learning all the positions in the office was a large undertaking.  

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

All of my grandsons keep me busy, and I love to see them as much as possible. I also enjoy watching football and other sports.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?

I enjoy our patients and the people I work with every day.
