UP Health System – Bell Names 2023 Mercy Award Winner, Lenora Olgren, RN
June 5, 2023

UP Health System – Bell is pleased to announce Registered Nurse Lenora Olgren has been awarded the 2023 Mercy Award. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded. The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman, and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At UP Health System – Bell, we share Lifepoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Mitch Leckelt, chief executive officer, UP Health System – Bell. “We are extremely proud to recognize Lenora for her efforts on behalf of our staff, patients, and our community. She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”
Lenora has been part of the UP Health System – Bell family for 30 years. As Director of the UP Health System – Bell Labor and Delivery Unit, Lenora and her team have created an environment where expecting moms from across the region seek out and choose UP Health System – Bell for their prenatal care and deliveries. She is kind and compassionate and consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her—from the care and education of new moms and families to confidently leading her staff even during the most difficult of times. Lenora is passionate and has the resolve to make sure all those around her have the support they need. She ensures everyone feels welcomed and encouraged in their position while earning their trust and respect to create a culture where people choose to come for healthcare, physicians want to practice, and—most importantly—where people want to work.
Outside of work, Lenora’s commitment to her hospital and community is evident, as her passion for and commitment to “Bell Babies” never wavers. From countless encounters with former patients sharing their wonderful experiences to preparing new families to feel successful, she does it all.
Each facility winner, including Lenora, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2023 Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, TN.
Congratulations, Lenora!
