What is your role at UPHS – Bell?
I am a certified medical assistant (CMA) in Women's Care.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
When I was in high school, I took the HOSA class and realized then that I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. Knowing every day that I could make a difference in a person's life is what I wanted to do.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
Every day is different because every patient and their case is different. Some of the things I love most are seeing our patients throughout their entire pregnancy and having the opportunity to learn something new every day.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been employed at UPHS – Bell for two years. I initially started in Family Medicine and after a year, I transferred to Women's Care. Recently I have had the opportunity of helping with MSHA.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
One big change for me was moving from Family Medicine to Women's Care.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Outside of work I enjoy camping, fishing, traveling, crafting and spending time with my family and grandchildren.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Bell?
One of the things I've enjoyed the most is having great coworkers. Whatever department I've worked in, I've always felt welcomed.
