What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I work in Food and Nutrition in the Bistro at UP Health System – Marquette.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
I open and operate the cafe for the midnight shift. I also do overnight prep work, like cutting up fruits and vegetables and cooking dishes for the upcoming day shift.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been employed at UP Health System – Marquette for five years now.
What are some of the significant changes you have experienced in this position?
The biggest change for me was moving from regular hours to the midnight schedule.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
My family—any time I am with them is what I enjoy the most.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
The overnight hospital staff. I have never met such a dedicated and hard-working bunch before.
