What is your role at UP Health System?

I am a patient service representative at UP Medical Group | Calumet Express Care.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I briefly worked in a medical records department in the Milwaukee area when I was first married in the 80s, and I enjoyed it.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

My days are filled with answering phone calls, scheduling and checking in walk-in patients. A big piece of what we do in Calumet is Occupational Medicine. I schedule those appointments, help new companies get set up with us, and make sure we have everything we need to complete the company requirements for the visit. Since we recently added ultrasound in Calumet, I also check those patients in for their scheduled appointments.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I started in October 2023 as a PSR in Internal Med at the hospital. I moved to Express Care in Calumet in February 2024.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?

We've really seen the Occupational Medicine part grow.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

I enjoy spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors and our beautiful surroundings. I also like to read, cook, and bake.

What do you enjoy most about working at UP Health System?

The camaraderie of our staff and each day is different.
