UP Health System – Portage welcomes orthopedic surgeon Zachary French, MD

UP Health System – Portage is pleased to announce that orthopedic surgeon Dr. Zachary French has joined UP Medical Group – Portage Orthopedics, expanding access to specialized orthopedic care for patients across the Copper Country and surrounding communities. Dr. French specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery, sports medicine, general orthopedics, shoulder replacement surgery, nerve and microsurgery, fracture care, and arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. French brings advanced training and a unique combination of medical and engineering expertise to the region. He earned engineering and medical degrees from the University of Michigan, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin, and went on to complete a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of California San Diego.

A native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Dr. French returns home to provide advanced orthopedic care to the community where he was born and raised.
