What is your role at UPHS – Bell?

I am a Medical Assistant at Bell Medical Family Practice.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I have been an MA for thirty years. Being able to help people live their lives a little easier is my inspiration for getting into healthcare.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

I get patients ready to see their provider by getting them into an exam room, obtaining a set of vitals, confirming medications, and making sure their medical information is up to date. 

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I have been employed here for just over a year, always in this position.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?  

I haven't experienced any big changes in this position, but I know my team is capable of handling them if they come up.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem? 

I like to read. I have recently started running again. I have pet snakes and lizards, and I enjoy designing and building the enclosures they live in.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Bell?

The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing. It usually makes for a good day.
