What is your role at UPHS – Bell?
I'm a nurse practitioner in occupational medicine at UP Health System – Bell.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
The opportunity to switch environments while helping people, with the hope of making positive life-changing differences.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
I get to shift rapidly between acute injuries, community health, pre-placement physicals and government-regulated compliance exams, among other things.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been here for just shy of three years, holding things down in occupational medicine.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
Changing of staff as well as closure of the Marquette Clinic and absorption of some of their clients. There are a lot of moving parts at any given time.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Spending time with family, friends, and exploring the Upper Peninsula.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Bell?
Working with the amazing team in occupational medicine.
