UP Health System – Marquette Welcomes Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner Ashley Croasdell

June 23, 2026

UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) welcomes Ashley Croasdell, DNP, FNP-BC, to its gastroenterology team at UP Medical Group – Marquette.

Croasdell, a board-certified nurse practitioner, provides comprehensive gastroenterology care to adult patients, helping manage and treat a variety of conditions affecting the digestive system and liver. Her focus areas include geriatrics, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She is committed to improving patients’ quality of life through compassionate, collaborative and individualized care.

“Ashley brings extensive clinical experience and a strong commitment to patient-centered care to our gastroenterology team,” said Tonya Darner, market chief executive officer of UPHS – Marquette and UPHS – Bell. “Her expertise will help expand access to high-quality digestive and liver care for patients across our region, and we are proud to welcome her to our organization and community.”

A native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Croasdell is grateful to live and practice in the region she calls home.

“When my family came over from Finland in the early 1900s, they settled in Rock, Michigan. The Upper Peninsula has always been our family homestead, and although I grew up in lower Michigan, I didn’t waste any time getting back up here when it was time for college,” she said. “After graduating, I started practicing in rural health, married and had children while firmly setting down our family roots where they belong.”

Croasdell chose to practice at UP Health System after nearly 20 years in health care in the Marquette area.

“It is the people who make up the caring and knowledgeable workforce that drew me to join the team,” she said. “Additionally, access to specialized care in rural health is generally lacking, and I am honored to be part of the solution.”

She added that the most rewarding part of her role is working directly with patients.

“The patients are the most compelling part of working as a nurse practitioner,” she said. “I feel privileged that people trust me with their care, and I enjoy collaborating with each individual to curate the best treatment options available for them.”

Outside of work, Croasdell enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, including hiking, kayaking, waterfall hunting, biking, swimming, boating and camping. She also enjoys baking sourdough, crocheting, traveling and experiencing new cultures.

“I love traveling and immersing myself in new cultures, but I eventually find myself longing for the quiet of home,” she said. “There’s a specific kind of happiness that hits me when the farmland and cities disappear from the plane window, replaced by the endless green forests of the Upper Peninsula.”

Croasdell is now seeing patients at UP Medical Group – Marquette Digestive and Liver, located at 850 W. Baraga Ave., Suite 32, Marquette, MI 49855.
