Jeremy Steele, PA-C, Named UP Health System - Bell 2026 Mercy Award Winner

UP Health System – Bell is pleased to announce Jeremy Steele, PA-C, has been recognized as its 2026 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.

Jeremy shows an exceptional level of compassion and dedication to the community around us, looking after his patients both in and outside a clinical setting. His approach to care doesn't stop at symptoms, with him calling to check in on patients if they have something significant going on elsewhere in their lives.

Outside of the hospital, Jeremy volunteers as a coach, manager, mentor and organizer for youth baseball. He can be found at the Iron Town Field in Negaunee, working with local youth as they grow and develop through sports. Jeremy also volunteers with local veterans, offering his time and boat for the annual veteran fishing day in the autumn.

Each facility winner, including Jeremy, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2026 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, TN, in August.
