What is your role at UPHS – Bell?

I'm an infusion nurse at UPHS – Bell.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I went into nursing so I can help others. I like working on my feet and interacting with my patients. I like seeing patients get their health back on track. 

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

Starting IV's, running infusions and closely monitoring our patients. I enjoy getting to know our patients and seeing their health being restored.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I've been here for six years. I previously worked in acute care and have been in the infusion department for almost two years.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?  

Being part of a new department at Bell. Always implementing new ways to streamline things so that our patients have a good experience.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem? 

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, getting outdoors, fishing, skiing and biking. My favorite local gem is The Isle Royale Greenstone.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Bell?

My coworkers who all collaborate together to provide excellent healthcare for our patients. We all work together as a team and help each other out.
