UP Health System – Marquette Welcomes General Surgeon Christopher Omerza, M.D.

UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) is pleased to welcome Christopher Omerza, MD, to its surgical services team. Dr. Omerza specializes in general surgery, including robotic and minimally invasive surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, colorectal disease, breast disease, endoscopy and trauma and acute care surgery. He is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.
Dr. Omerza earned his Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from Albion College.
“The UP is a beautiful place with incredible access to the outdoors and a great community,” Omerza said. “My wife and I have been looking for an opportunity to return ever since graduating from Michigan State University’s Upper Peninsula campus.”
Outside of work, Dr. Omerza enjoys hiking, biking and snowboarding.
Dr. Omerza will see patients at UP Health System – Marquette Surgical Associates. A referral may be required before scheduling.
