What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?

I am a dishwasher at UP Health System – Marquette.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I worked here as a student through Maresa. I enjoyed it and wanted to join the team. 

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

I work on the patient tray line. I help keep all the dishes in the department clean. I also train all the new employees. It's very busy but fun!

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I have been employed here for almost nine years, coming up in September. I have always been in the same position since I started. 

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?  

Nothing much has changed, but I am now one of the lead dishwashers, and I am responsible for training and making sure everything is done properly.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem? 

I love to read, listen to music and color. I love to eat at Big Boy and go bowling.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?

I enjoy working with everybody and I get along with everyone.
