What is your role at UPHS – Portage?
I'm the endoscopy clinic navigator for general surgery.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I have always wanted to be a support to others.
What's a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
Every day is different. I spend the majority of my time on the phone with patients, helping them get set up for their procedures.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been in this role for almost one year. I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
Because this is a new position, we are learning and often making changes to better serve our patients.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I love to spend time with family at our cottage in Bete Grise, MI.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Portage?
My patients and coworkers.
