What is your role at UPHS – Bell?
I'm a senior clinic licensed practical nurse at UPHS – Bell Occupational Medicine.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I was always interested in the medical field, and I enjoy working with people.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
Every day is different! I really enjoy that part of my job. Some days are mainly filled with patient care, and other days I spend a lot of time ordering supplies and managing our staff schedules. I also do a lot of the staff training and sometimes I teach CPR courses in the community.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been a UPHS – Bell employee for 17 years. I started working in Family Medicine and I have been in Occupational Medicine for six years.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
A lot has changed in medicine since I started my career! There have been big changes in technology and charting for sure.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I love spending time with my family, traveling, shopping and being outdoors. I have quite a few local spots that I love to visit, but one that stands out is Craig Lake State Park. It’s a great place to hike.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Bell?
I enjoy the people! My office has great people working here. We have a great team dynamic and work well together.
