UP Health System – Marquette Welcomes Cardiac Electrophysiologist Mohamad Raad, M.D.

March 19, 2026

MARQUETTE, Mich. (Mar. 19, 2026) — UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) is pleased to welcome Mohamad Raad, M.D., to its cardiology team. Dr. Raad is a cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, providing care for patients with complex heart rhythm disorders.

His areas of expertise include catheter ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and extraction, cardiac resynchronization therapy, stroke prevention for atrial fibrillation and management of complex heart rhythm conditions.

Dr. Raad earned his medical degree with high distinction and a bachelor’s degree in general biology from the American University of Beirut. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and brings extensive experience treating patients with advanced arrhythmias.

“The most rewarding part of my job is hearing patients tell me they can return to simple things — playing with their kids, exercising, or sleeping through the night — without worrying that their heart will suddenly race or pause,” Dr. Raad said. “I also appreciate combining the intellectual challenge of cardiac care with compassionate patient care.”

Dr. Raad chose the Upper Peninsula for its sense of community, natural beauty and slower pace of life. “It offers the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients while enjoying the outdoors year-round,” he said.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Raad enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, traveling, hiking, staying active and reading.

UP Health System – Marquette provides comprehensive cardiology services across the Upper Peninsula. Its cardiologists deliver advanced diagnostic and treatment options for heart rhythm disorders and other cardiovascular conditions, ensuring patients receive compassionate, personalized care close to home.

Dr. Raad will see patients at UPHS – Marquette | Heart & Vascular. Patients interested in scheduling an appointment should call 906.449.3440. A referral may be necessary before scheduling.
