What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?

I am a medical assistant for Digestive and Liver at UP Health System – Marquette.

 What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I've always had the desire to help people. I now have the honor of being one of the first faces people see when they come into the clinic. Whether it's setting people up for procedures or providing emotional support in times of need, I am fulfilling that longing to help others.  

 What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

A typical day for me includes rooming patients, taking vitals, scheduling procedures and inputting information. Working in this field is very interesting. You never realize how much goes and fits into the GI field. There is never a dull moment.   

 How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I have been working here since April 2025. I've had the same role since I started, but I have taken on more responsibilities that have allowed me to grow and collaborate with other positions in the office.

 What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?  

Some changes I had noticed in this position were the amount of hands-on patient care I get to be involved with.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem? 

Some of my interests outside of work include hiking, mudding, hanging out with friends, finding new places to explore and I'm always looking for a good place to eat

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?

One thing I enjoy most about working at UP Health System is the connections I have made. Not just with coworkers but patients as well.
