UP Health System – Marquette Welcomes Emergency Medicine Physician Ryan Miller, MD

UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) is pleased to welcome Ryan Miller, MD, to its team of emergency medicine physicians. Dr. Miller brings strong clinical training, a passion for patient care and a commitment to improving the health of the Marquette community.

As an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Miller is trained to treat a wide range of urgent and critical medical conditions, including heart attacks, strokes, severe infections, and traumatic injuries such as fractures, falls and concussions. He also provides expert care for patients experiencing asthma attacks, allergic reactions, and other serious illnesses or injuries. Dr. Miller cares for individuals of all ages — from newborns and toddlers to adults and older adults.

Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit in 2022 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit as part of the class of 2025. He is board-eligible with the American Board of Emergency Medicine and licensed to practice in Michigan.

In addition to his medical training, Dr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2018. He is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, pediatric advanced life support, and advanced trauma life support.

As the federally designated regional referral center for the Upper Peninsula — and a Level II trauma center, primary stroke center, and accredited chest pain center with primary PCI — UPHS – Marquette is equipped to care for the most critically ill and injured patients in the region. The hospital also houses the only neonatal intensive care unit in the Upper Peninsula, providing life-saving care to the region’s most vulnerable newborns.
