What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?

I am a Food & Nutrition Supervisor in the Bistro on Baraga at UP Health System – Marquette.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I heard that the hospital offered a dependable and great work environment.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

Food & Nutrition Services is a busy department. We're working to feed not only patients but our employees and visitors as well. The work is very rewarding.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I have been employed by the hospital for 31 years, always in Food & Nutrition Services.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?

The move to the new hospital was definitely a big change.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

Outside of work, I like to sit on the deck and enjoy the outdoors. I also like to go camping and traveling — and of course, I love to babysit the grandkids.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?

I enjoy getting to meet and work with all kinds of people and all the friendships that I've made over the years.
