Violette “Vi” Richards is a resident at PortagePointe.

What was your first job? 

I worked at the old hospital in the kitchen until my senior year in high school. I often picked up shifts on the weekends and evenings.

What is your favorite activity that is offered at PortagePointe? 

My favorite activity is Bingo!

What are the most important lessons you have learned in your life?

For me, the golden rule is the most important: treat people the way you want to be treated!

What did you and your siblings do for fun? 

Gardening, picking fruit, and canning with my father was always the most fun and is something I will always remember. 

Tell us something interesting about yourself that some people may not know about you.

I love knitting items and giving them away to people.  When I give them away, all I ask is for a thank you in return!

What do you enjoy most about living at PortagePointe? 

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they all make it feel like home!
