What is your role at UP Health System?
I am the Practice Manager for UP Health System – Sault Ste. Marie.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I enjoy working in this field because I enjoy helping people. Healthcare allows me to do that every day. It’s rewarding to make things easier for our patients however I can.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
New things are happening every day here. Usually, I’m making new the office runs smoothly for our patients, staff, and providers. If we run into any problems, I find a way to solve them with the help of my staff. Here at our clinic, we have specialists who travel from UP Health System – Marquette to care for patients in our community.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been employed by this hospital for 27 years in the same position. This practice joined UP Health System in 1995, and I came along with it.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and especially my 5 grandchildren. My local gem is my home. I live on the St. Mary’s River, and love having company to share it with.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
This is my favorite question because it’s so easy to answer. The staff absolutely rocks here at our clinic and throughout UP Health System. I enjoy all the friendships I have been blessed with while working here.
