What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician at UP Health System – Marquette.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I enjoy making people feel welcome and comfortable, and in the healthcare field, everything comes down to having a clean room.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
The EVS team works around the clock to keep the rooms clean and ready to receive patients. It’s hard work, but it’s rewarding to know you have a real impact on the day-to-day here at our hospital.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been with UP Health System – Marquette for 11 years.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting and sewing, as well as cooking and sharing meals with friends and family. But this time of year, you’ll usually find me shoveling snow!

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
I enjoy the people — both coworkers and patients — and being able to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
