What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am a Groundskeeper in the Plant Operations department at UP Health System – Marquette.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
There is a sense of pride in working at our community’s hospital.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
We keep busy. On the Grounds crew, we ensure the hospital campus is clean and safe for patients, visitors, and other employees.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been with UP Health System – Marquette since 2008. I first started on the Construction crew before joining the Grounds crew.

What are some of the big changes you’ve experienced in this position?
The biggest change was the big move from the old hospital to the new campus and having to take care of both locations.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in the woods and listening to music.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
I enjoy working alongside my team. I have met some great people here.
