UPHS – Bell Heroes | Olivia Arntsen, RN

April 24, 2026

What is your role at UPHS – Bell?

I'm a registered nurse in labor and delivery.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

I actually never thought about going into healthcare until high school. My Health Occupations teacher asked me once what I wanted to go to college for, and I told her I wasn’t sure. She said, “I think you should be a nurse!” and that was that! I knew if I was going to be a nurse, I was going to work in labor and delivery.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

Typical patient care would be having labors, inductions, c-sections, deliveries, postpartum care, newborn care, and a variety of outpatients. One of my favorite parts about my job is how different each day can be, and how quickly the day can change.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I am coming up on four years this June! I have worked labor and delivery at Bell my entire career as a nurse.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?

I feel like the biggest change for me was when we got our new OB providers, just having to relearn provider preference for a lot of things we do. We're a team, so it's important for us to be aligned with how an OB provider leads.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

I love to spend time with family and friends, going to Packer games, and I can almost always be found with a coffee, reading, or doing crafts. I also love local coffee shops and time spent on the lake.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Bell?

I love the work I do and the people I get to do it with. Working alongside my coworkers is a dream. We are all so passionate about the patients we have and the care we provide.
