About Lara Clary-Lantis, DO

Dr. Clary-Lantis is a faculty member of the Marquette Family Medicine Program and a palliative care provider in the UP Health System - Marquette Cancer Center, specializing in family medicine, geriatrics, and hospice and palliative care medicine. She earned her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Pikeville - Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency training in family medicine at Florida Hospital-East Orlando. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor. "I grew up in a medical family where my dad provided traditional primary care, caring for his patients from cradle to grave - in the clinic, home and the hospital - which is why I chose family medicine. As healthcare has advanced and become more complex, I have been fortunate to receive additional training in geriatrics and hospice and palliative care. My hope is to help provide patients and family additional support when diagnosed with a serious illness, including how to navigate the health system and live as well as possible." Prior to joining UP Health System, Dr. Clary-Lantis served in multiple roles, including most recently as medical director, fellowship director, and attending physician in hospice and palliative medicine at Trinity Health IHA, formerly known as St. Joseph Mercy Health System, in Ann Arbor. Additionally, she completed comprehensive training and served on numerous committees focused on medical education and improving healthcare quality and processes. "My husband and I relocated to the Upper Peninsula from downstate to be closer to family, including our first grandchild. Visiting and traveling in the Upper Peninsula was my favorite childhood memory, which we shared when raising our own children. We enjoy spending time outside, even in the cold, with our family, including our dogs. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to work and be a part of this community."
