Keara J. Kangas, PhD

Dr. Keara J. Kangas earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Marquette University, completed her clinical psychology internship at the VA Maryland Health Care System, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology through Michigan Medicine and the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Her clinical interests include neuropsychological evaluation of young, middle-aged, and older adults, with experience assessing individuals with neurodegenerative diseases, epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions affecting cognitive functioning. “What I find most rewarding about neuropsychology is helping patients and their families better understand their unique experiences, challenges and strengths. I enjoy bringing those different pieces together to see the bigger picture and providing meaningful recommendations that can make a difference in their everyday lives.” Originally from the Upper Peninsula, Dr. Kangas is excited to return home and provide specialized neuropsychological services to the community. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and their dog, Zuma. She also serves in the Michigan Army National Guard.
