Acupuncture
Originally a form of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture has gained acceptance around the world and is used to treat a wide range of issues. Conditions that can be addressed include:
- Acute and chronic pain (including phantom pain)
- Headaches and migraines
- Arthritis pain
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Insomnia
- Premenstrual syndrome and menstrual cramps
- Chemotherapy-Induced nausea and vomiting
What to Expect During Treatment
Acupuncture involves the use of extremely thin, flexible, sterile needles. During treatment, these needles are applied to specific points of the body to stimulate nerves, muscles, and other tissues. Your licensed Acupuncturist will walk you through the process from start to finish, to help ensure a comfortable, positive patient experience. After evaluating your symptoms, the Acupuncturist will determine where to place the needles. The needles will be placed close to the skin’s surface, and treatment typically lasts from 20 minutes to an hour. Many patients report feeling relaxed following treatment.
