Neil Umles, MD

Dr. Neil Umles is a nephrologist with UP Medical Group - Medical Specialists at UP Health System - Marquette. He treats patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, electrolyte disorders and those requiring hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship at Ascension St. John Hospital in Grosse Pointe, Michigan where he served as Chief Nephrology Fellow and completed advanced training with transplant center experience. Dr. Umles earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from the University of California, Davis and an Associate of Science in Natural Sciences from Orange Coast College. "I chose the Upper Peninsula for its beauty and its people and UP Health System for its purpose. I'm driven by the opportunity to care for a community in need and to engage in meaningful teaching and collaboration every day." Outside of work, he enjoys biking, skiing and spending time with his family.
